Chaotic Life,  Writing Updates

🌙 Goodbye, June — Hello, July: Editing, Theater, and the Magic of New Beginnings

It feels surreal that we’re already turning the page into July. June flew by in a blur of words, caffeine, and quiet determination — and as I look back, I’m proud to say the first draft of my new book is done.

Even more exciting? It has a name.

Veil of Starlight.

It’s still early — titles change, and edits are coming in hot — but for now, it’s the working title of the story that literally just fell out of me. I’ve officially moved into the editing phase, and with that comes a whole new kind of magic (and chaos).

But writing isn’t the only thing picking up speed.

In July, my world shifts back toward the stage. The children’s theater I work with is heading into one of its busiest seasons — auditions for our summer play are right around the corner, and summer camp is fast approaching. It’s a time filled with messy rehearsals, creative breakthroughs, and watching young performers grow into their roles. I love this part of the year — the buzz of excitement, the energy of new stories coming to life, the endless potential of a blank stage.

And while our big fall production doesn’t start until August, July is the calm before the storm — the planning phase, the early prep, the quiet stirrings of something much bigger on the horizon.

So yes, July is going to be wild.

There will be scripts and scenes and stage directions. There will be red pens and plot notes and many, many moments of “what was I thinking?” as I dive into revisions.

But I wouldn’t have it any other way.

If June was about creating, July is about shaping — stories, stages, and maybe even myself.

Here’s to the next chapter. 💫
