Author Life Update: One Step at a Time

It feels like I’ve been juggling a hundred different things lately.

Some days I’m writing. Some days I’m editing. Other days I’m designing graphics, updating my website, answering emails, planning social media, or trying to convince myself that learning TikTok won’t be the end of me.

(I’m still not convinced. 😂)

One thing I’ve learned as an indie author is that writing the book is only a small part of the job. There are so many hats to wear, and sometimes it feels like I switch between all of them before lunch.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working on quite a few projects behind the scenes.

🖤 I released the newly updated edition of Self Inflicted.
📚 I added a brand-new Music category to my website.
🎵 I shared my first music blog (and yes… I’m still obsessed with Jared Benjamin).
📱 I’m slowly stepping into the world of TikTok.
📖 I’ve been reading like crazy and finding even more books to add to my ever-growing list of favorites.
✍️ And, of course, I’m continuing to work on Heir of the Forgotten and everything that comes with building a brand-new fantasy world.

Sometimes I catch myself looking at everything I still have left to do and wondering if I’m making enough progress.

Then I stop and look back.

A year ago, I wasn’t here.

The website looked different.

My books looked different.

My plans looked different.

Even I looked different.

Growth doesn’t always happen in giant leaps. Most of the time, it’s a collection of small steps that slowly add up until one day you realize you’ve come a lot farther than you thought.

That’s where I am right now.

Still learning.

Still creating.

Still making mistakes.

Still chasing stories that I hope will mean something to someone else.

And honestly?

I wouldn’t have it any other way.
