Writing Updates

I Finally Have Unraveled Prophecies News

I have been saying for months that I would have more Unraveled Prophecies news soon.

Apparently, β€œsoon” is a very flexible word when you’re an author. πŸ˜‚

I actually wanted to have a bigger update ready before the end of September. September came and went. October arrived. And I was still over here writing, editing, moving things around, adding chapters, changing things I thought were settled, and discovering that my characters had information they apparently didn’t feel the need to share with me when I started writing them.

But I finally have news.

More importantly, I am finally at the point where I can start sharing things.

So, What Have I Been Doing?

A lot.

Unraveled Prophecies has been one of those projects that has continued to grow as I’ve gotten deeper into it. I’ve written new chapters. I’ve gone back through existing ones. I’ve expanded scenes that needed more room. I’ve found places where something that made perfect sense in my head did not make nearly as much sense once it was actually on the page.

You know. Writing. πŸ˜‚

I’ve also gotten to know these characters so much better.

That’s probably been one of my favorite parts of working on this book. There have been moments when I’ve sat down completely convinced I knew where a scene was going, only for a character to do or say something that changed how I understood them. Sometimes that meant changing one scene. Sometimes it meant realizing something much bigger needed to shift.

I’ve tried not to force the story to stay inside the plan I originally made for it simply because that was the plan.

The result is a book I’m much more excited aboutβ€”and one I’m finally getting very close to being able to put into your hands.

But I’m getting ahead of myself.

Because before you can read it, there are a few things I should probably tell you.

Like, you know…

What the book is called. πŸ˜‚

The Reveals Begin

I’ve been keeping quite a few things to myself, and that’s about to change.

Rather than making you wonder when everything is coming, here’s the official reveal schedule:

πŸ“– 10.15.26 β€” BOOK ONE TITLE REVEAL

Book One officially has a name.

Do I know what it is?

Yes.

Am I putting it in this blog post?

Absolutely not. πŸ˜‚

You’ll have to come back on 10.15 for that one.

πŸ‘€ 10.19.26 β€” WHAT IS THIS BOOK ACTUALLY ABOUT?

I’ve talked about writing my fantasy novel. I’ve shared progress updates. I’ve mentioned Unraveled Prophecies plenty of times.

I’ve been considerably quieter about what you’re actually going to find inside it.

On 10.19, I’ll finally give you a spoiler-free introduction to Book One and tell you a little more about the story I’ve been working on behind the scenes.

πŸ–€ 10.23.26 β€” COVER REVEAL

This one has been particularly hard to keep to myself.

And because apparently I am incapable of simply posting a picture and saying, β€œHey, here’s my cover,” I’ve been working on a reveal for this one, too.

You’re going to have to wait until 10.23 to see it.

πŸ“… 10.26.26 β€” RELEASE DATE REVEAL

And then we get to the question that actually matters:

When can you read it?

I know.

You don’t.

Yet. πŸ‘€

You’ll find out on 10.26.

And Then I Can Finally Start Talking

This might be the part I’m most excited about.

These announcements aren’t the end of what I have to share. They’re basically permission for me to finally start sharing.

Once the title, cover, and release information are out in the world, I can start talking about the things that make this book what it is.

The characters.

The relationships.

The tropes.

The world.

Quotes I’ve been sitting on because they make absolutely no sense without context.

Excerpts.

Behind-the-scenes pieces from the writing process.

And probably at least a few posts about characters who have caused me far more trouble than fictional people should be capable of causing.

I’ve spent so long working on this world while trying not to say too much about it that it’s going to feel very strange when I can finally use actual names and talk about actual things instead of vaguely gesturing toward β€œthe fantasy book.” πŸ˜‚

I’m ready for that.

Want to Read My Books Early?

While we’re talking about things that are coming…

My Reader Team is always open.

The Reader Team isn’t only for one particular book or release. Members may have opportunities to receive free review copies of my books, including copies of upcoming books before they’re officially published.

There is never an expectation that receiving a free book means leaving a positive review. I want honest reviews. If you love one of my books, tell people why. If something didn’t work for you, that’s okay, too.

I also try to match books with readers who actually enjoy those genres and types of stories. Not every book is going to be the right fit for every reader.

And considering I just spent an entire blog post telling you that there are quite a few things coming…

This might be a pretty good time to make sure your name is on that list. πŸ‘€

The Secrets Are Starting to Unravel

It feels a little strange to finally be here.

This book has existed in notebooks, documents, outlines, edits, handwritten pages, conversations, and approximately seventeen million thoughts running through my head for a long time.

Soon, it isn’t going to belong only to me anymore.

You’ll know its name.

You’ll know its story.

You’ll see its cover.

And you’ll know exactly when you can finally read it.

The first reveal happens 10.15.26.

I’m ready.

Mostly. πŸ˜‚

Are you?
